The Gifu Crossroads Tourism and Event Newsletter Gently Falls to the Ground, Melts, and Then Comes Back a Week Later: Winter 2015 Edition

It’s been a long year, but we’ve finally arrived at the end of 2015. Winter is always a particularly magical time in Gifu Prefecture, as the areas in the northern region of Hida see heavy precipitation that leaves its mountainous villages buried under deep snow. Whether it’s the quiet, snow-swept roads in the old town of Takayama or the large piles of snow atop the thatched-roof houses of Shirakawa-go, the unique wintertime scenery of Gifu Prefecture can be enjoyed nowhere else!

For a peek at what this coming winter season has in store for those of us lucky enough to be in Gifu Prefecture, click here or look for it under the “Tourism and Event Newsletter” header at the top of the page.
